This is wrong, they really need to change this. The general public does not need this information at their fingertips with people getting into fights over them and some even turning to vigilantism and shooting them out of the sky with firearms.

Actually, I can see a use searching by ID in case someone finds a drone and wants to locate the owner. Searching by any other info or a "browse the list" is looking for trouble. It'll take about 5 minutes for someone to pull the list into google maps and create a site of all the drone owners nearby.

Why not make it so someone who finds one reports it to the FAA instead of making it public? That is a better scenario.
