A bit of drone related (bad) news.

Yeah this actually made big headlines...could be negative reaction. Of course I don't own or fly any 'drones'. I fly 'quadcopters'!

    Extra Karma backpack...who wants it?

    Something akin to 'planned obsolescence'!

    Extra Karma backpack...who wants it?

Pics? Of the backpack? No...I guess I can take some of needed, but it is a Karma backpack, standard to what comes with the Karma new. It is new because my first Karma did a flyaway after two flights.

    Extra Karma backpack...who wants it?

It is basically new, and due to it being custom made and molded for the Karma, I can't use it for anything else. If you want it and will pay shipping, then it is yours.

    Downtown Lake, San Antonio

Just a few minutes of footage from Woodlawn Lake Park in downtown San Antonio today. The clouds and light were nice, so I said what the hell. The airspace was permitted per the Airmap app. Towards the end, when I am at the other end of the lake, I lost connection a bit and the movements were...

Newspaper Sticks Up for Drone Pilots

Just saw this in my news feed: Misleading 'no drone zone' signs should be removed ASAP - Sedona Red Rock News - Sedona News, Jobs, Things to Do What a reversal from.what I usually read!

ISO Standards for drones in the works

Since this is an international forum, and drone centered: Drone standards get a first set and lasting nod as helpful guide ISO Work in progress: ISO/CD 21384-1 What are your thoughts? Just like our new FAA rules in the US that are doing away with exemptions for hobbyists, I am concerned...

    'Supplementary' Droning

Definitely. People do not seem to feel threatened by me flinging the FOV racer through the air, rather they are entertained. Also the old school RC controller doesn't seem to indicate 'privacy invasion' to them since there is no screen on it. I also ONLY speak of my 'quadcopters' rather than...

I about got attacked by a HUGE GOLDEN EAGLE!

That's it. Our drones are at risk...time to BAN BIRDS!

Got a Karma. How long before it flies away

That is pretty much how I think of it. I also try to bring my family into the hobby, or at least build some family friendly activity around me flying. My wife has been more than supportive-she actually bought me two of my quads!

    The Farmer

When we lived in Ramstein it was very rural, but as I recall more pastoral rather than large scale farming. Either way, beautiful country!

    'Supplementary' Droning

The short answer is I can't fully control it yet...I anticipate many hours of practice! Even just practicing hovering and basic stuff right now is a joy though!

First flights with my Karma with observations/thoughts

Not to get off topic, but have you also floen any DJIs? If so, has your time with the Evo convinced you that they can give DJI serious competition? Also...the Karma is wonderful...you have to get to know her! :-)

    'Supplementary' Droning

My beloved San Antonio is a metro of about 1.6 million people chock full of military installations, airports, hospitals, national park areas...even the NSA has a place here! Because of these things (that help make San great place to live) the Airmap looks like the attached photo. So I crave...
