I am not sure if it is related but after the first couple of times it did the camera thing I remove the Hero shoe from the stabilizer - cleaned out the connectors and reseated
No issues since.

Never even considered using the grip and stabiliser on the car
I would however most likely buy the cable to separate the grip so you only need to mount the stabiliser which is smaller and lighter on its own
I agree 100% - I would also have though the firmware would be set to disable both by default however we all know there are some gaps and glitches
I’ve only done 6 flights now and just noticed I had no issues when manually switching both of before powering the camera off and connecting

Picked up a Karma kit last weekend and thus far only managed to do one test flight
was close to the house and in a fenced back garden so not ideal but it coped well
Looking forward to taking it out in the open to get some great footage with the Hero 6
