Check all the connections between the gopro and the Karma body. Assuming they are in good mechanical condition, clean the connector xfaces with a good electrical cleaner:
- USB-c on the GoPro
- Between gopro and holder
- Between holder and gimball/stabilizer
- Between gimbal/stabilizer and...
I owned a Karma and flew it for a few months. Ended-up moving to a smaller/lighter drone that is more easily carried via backpack and is quieter. It's size and sound tend to attract a lot of attention. However, the Karma and GoPro Hero footage was so smooth. The Karma is also built like a...
The Karma is old with declining market presence so may be challenging to find somebody. Do you have a specific issue where the forum could potentially help?
Doesn't GoPro still support it? Still selling some parts for discounted prices: GoPro Karma
These folks are well known for DJI and Parrot...
I am a relatively new Karma owner and have been happy with many aspects of it, however, it's a bit large and heavy for lugging in my hiking backpack and attracts more attention than I'd like because of it's size and noise. I recently also purchased a Parrot Anafi to try and have been happy with...
Agreed. I've pushed mine out to ~1,500-1,600 ft and on a clear day it was very difficult to see the Karma from that distance. It was a lightly populated area with very little wifi interference and my signal was orange (not red), but if I went much further I wouldn't have been able to see the...
Agreed. I thought the cell and microwave towers at the summit of this hill might be a problem. I did some testing with the Karma before flight and shortly after lift-off to test my signal strength and it seemed strong. I didn't fly the drone very far -- less than 100 ft up and ~200 ft maximum...
I flew in a combination of poor and no GPS in the woods this past weekend. Was definitely a more challenging situation. Winds were very light (1-3mph) so the Karma was gently pushed around at times. Under these conditions I was able to avoid hitting anything, but made smooth footage...
Experimenting with different video options under low light. Flat video had entirely different color profile vs timelapse video and I did some corrections in Davinci. Looks ok although far from perfect. Davinci is incredibly powerful and I'm only 4-6 weeks into learning it.
Perhaps I should be more satisfied with the range I'm getting. I mostly fly in semi-rural areas but often see green range for over 1,000-1,200 ft. I flew about 1,600 ft from the controller yesterday and returned because it was bright and sunny and it was unclear to me if the range indicator...
Stumbled across this older review of the revamped Karma. This guy hates it, but the review is very funny and entertaining.
He especially seems to enjoy poking fun at GoPro and their CEO. On a positive note, he seems to appreciate the Hero7 in some of his other videos.
Anyhow, I highly...
I'm trying to get a better feel for a comfortable range expectation w/my Karma. After cleaning the karma, gimble, battery, and camera contacts I took her out for a test spin in a fairly open area. There are some residential dwellings and power lines in the area but I would characterize as...
FYI I recently created a thread about cleaning contacts here: A Suggestion for cleaning contacts
I've now tested the controller "red button" functionality indoors (karma turned on but motors not running and controller across the house) and in four flights since cleaning my contacts, The red...
