Same with me as well on the refurb unit I purchased, my original Karma has so far not had the issue. Appears just to be the rubberized button covering with the symbol.
For me the Karma drone was a no brainer since I had been using GoPro cameras since day 1. I also like the dedicated controller (no smart phone required) and the Passenger app where your assistant can monitor video with a phone or ipad as you fly along. The Karma is well designed and thought out...
Karma user manual manual page 6 says "Power on the controller, then power on the drone". The manual doesn't mention any time interval between the 2 steps, in my experience it takes awhile for the controller to boot up, so in the end I don't know if it matters.
