Sabotaged Propeller due to 3D Printing Hack

I just saw the news here and it was quite a nerve wrecking insight how these particular machines can be sabotaged in the middle of design and production. I can’t imagine having a drone costing $800 to just break in mid-flight. Well the issue goes deeper into production lines that makes used of 3D printing. Imagine if the part under production was a propeller for a real aircraft, then that would have cost lives and destruction of property. Then it becomes all the more important to have these designs secured and keep it in-tact and proper checks should have been done that the design file going to the 3D printer was not modified in any way.
 
No worries, that article is misleading. It should be titled "3D printers can be hacked". There are no 3D printed props that I know of and all consumer drones use injection molded props. So nothing to worry about as it is a non-issue for you & your drone.
