Do I have to register my drone? I'm getting confuse of getting my drone register because I saw something that they took it off for hobbyist but I read something that I have to register my drone if it's weigh over 0.55lbs.

The FAA registration is no longer required for hobbiest. (I still need to file to get my $5 back. Its not that Im hard up for the cash ... It's more to the point : it was a usage tax. The registration could have been $0 fee)

I just did my registration and paid $5 and got my number, which I diligently put on the Karma with permanent marker. The site acted as if this is still required. It isn't ?

Not required right currently. Why would FAA change site? They want everyone to register and they got your $5! Really what real difference does it make though.
