In this series of threads, I will be analyzing crash videos in an effort to learn more about the limitations of technology in the Karma Drone, and how to avoid such issues myself. Hopefully such analysis will help us all fly better and avoid potentially problematic flights. I'm interested in hearing from other experienced pilots regarding their observations or "tips of the trade".
Pilot Statement: "I crashed it... it spent cca. 10 minutes underwater, at least in freshwater, not in the sea. A classic one, didn't see the powerlines accross the river from the live feed."
Analysis: Yup....that pretty much sums it up. You would think something as small as power lines would be a "non-issue" when you can easily go over or under them, but it is surprising how often they can contribute to a crash.
It is a good idea to survey the area you are flying, looking for any possible hazards. Power lines are easier to see from the ground, than they are from the air.
