Karma drone fishing

Unfortunately we only caught a couple small shark but this was a drone test day. First couple attempts dropped the bait at around 300ft. After some trial and error we were getting out 900 feet before release. 10oz weight - 12inch fish for bait - 3oz for hook and leader. 900 ft looks to be at the drones limit. Will try an aftermarket antenna to increase the range. Looking to get the bait 2000ft out.Drone takeoff video

Hah that's cool! Would be helpful to know how you drop the bait. I'm wondering if a simple "L" shaped hook that keeps the bait intact while flying fwd but can slip off if flying in reverse?

It is a product from gannet. Uses 2 ball bearings to hold the line. Little tug and the line comes out. Greater distance requires greater resistance. I would really like to get to 3/4 mile but the range is limited.
