Ok....I managed to get some flight time in today and took Karma out of my comfort zone....After getting the modification done (installing the extra housing to mount the TNC bulkheads to) I attached the 7dBI antenna's and did a short "boot-up" flight to make sure all was well.....seemed OK.....so...
The TNC bulkhead fitting with coax attached finally showed up....I have the Linksys 7dBI antenna's already....so I have all the parts here to do the mode.....The weather here has been so poor (winter will just not quit !)....Hoping to get things hooked up and out for testing this coming...
Yes getting your Karma air-born can take a little time and be frustrating...Hang in there I am not near my notes and info to help....but there is others here that have experience and will help get it sorted....
Robust.....The connector is a little more substantial.....nothing high tech....will allow for a taller / more gain whip and less likely to stress out the fitting
Your talking about quite a complicated procedure to re-tune / alter these "X" antenna's followed by testing with an antenna analyzer of some sorts to check for accuracy...maybe adding another antenna(s) for the other freq's(known freq's) may be an approach...As it is RC they can be small and...
not sure what you after....the improvement has been posted. with over twice the range....for 20% of the cost of the ITElite set up....as it is omni directional it will have a dead spot directly above the tip....directional antenna's will have a dead spot behind the patch antenna........most of...
Good to see that your results show a great improvement....Yes the bulkheads are a little large....What I am going to do is : I have found in my collection of electrical junk a plastic box that came from a dimmer switch...I believe the switch had failed and I kept the small plastic box the...
Coax cables act like a "choke" (what you don't want) if they are coiled up tightly....best bet to have a "loose" route somewhere to get them a manageable length and back to where they will be attached...If possible not on top of the circuit board or too close to the battery....
Thankyou for all the high quality pictures.....I was interested in the antenna's on board Karma....and a few of your pictures shown what they look like and their location....Now you have me thinking about an up grade to karma's antennas to go with the upgrades I am planning to the...
The reduction of signal strength thru the plastic cover would be so small...should make no difference to range and signal drop out..In the past I have ran into plastics (black) that have some signal attenuation....but the manufacturer had used something (pigment) to obtain the "black" colour...
Should be no reason you can't buy Gopro Care....But beware.....READ the fine print....You don't just pay the one cost as many think....you pay also when you make a claim....Check out the arrangement and see if its worth it to you...
