    On The Fence..

You are proving my point - I want hero5 AND detachable gimbal in one complete package, from a company I personally think will continue to support the product. I am coming from Solo and know what features I need. Karma is cheaper than putting together all the equipment seperately, and will...

    On The Fence..

I don't know if we are comparing apples here. Karma is still the only drone carrying a hero5 in a compact format. Karma is still the only drone that comes with a detachable gimbal. Range, speed, avoidance, follow me, battery life aren't important to me personally, and therefore Karma is better...

    GoPro remotely disabling Karma

I will wait till mid January and see what happens, I will rebuy if Karma comes available by then. After that I suspect I will start my research from scratch.

    Auto Shot Paths

I watched the follow up, and my decision doesn't change since he still says that Karma is a better camera. I don't need range or long flight times.

    Karma no fly zone scheme

I agree with you, I do hope that GoPro come up with a method that is not too onerous, to allow us to fly once we have relevant permissions.

    Karma no fly zone scheme

THere are videos online made by people who already have their Karma. Apparently Karma will allow you to fly within the 5 mile radius down to 1.5 miles from center, once the pilot acknowledges that he has notified the airport. Within 1.5 miles there is no option to fly. If you are a professional...

The Reason the Karma is delayed worldwide

Apparently DJI and GoPro have learned the lesson that 3DR learned the hard way. Wait to see demand before producing drones that depreciate (can't sell for new) to less than their production cost in one year. GoPro learned this with their last GoPro too. Not that I think they couldn't have...

    Karma no fly zone scheme

Your situation will be interesting, I am assuming you will notify them? Please let us know what happens and how the process goes. Hopefully there will be a system that allows errors in the NFZs to be corrected.

I waited over a year for the GoPro Karma and it's finally here!

Lol, all good advice. My boat is a 40' cruiser and I don't fly while not anchored. I also don't fly when drinking or partying with friends. And quite often there is no land nearby not covered in tress. Ultimately, I use "return to me" not RTL when on the boat.

I waited over a year for the GoPro Karma and it's finally here!

I should have been more clear, apologies. The most important word in my statement is "support". And as far as I know, after much research, is that DJI does not support the use of their products from a moving surface. Which is to say, your warrantee is shot as soon as you have a problem, even if...

I waited over a year for the GoPro Karma and it's finally here!

Having seen the debacle of the Solo launch (gimbal not ready to ship, glitchy software, etc), GP are probably smart not committing until they know everything is ready to go. After all, GP hired a lot of the 3DR employees, so they would have learned that lesson. Hopefully they are squeezing in...

    Boat Mode?

It is looking promising that KKarma is actually able to do this: Solved: Boat launch - GOPRO SUPPORT HUB Arducopter 3.4 incorporates the ability to take off from a moving surface. Solo was based on arducopter before it stopped being upgraded, I believe that Solo got stuck at 3.3 and then...

    Boat Mode?

Is there any official statement from GP that the Karma can by flown from a moving surface (boat mode)? One of the promotional videos shows it taking off from a Kayak, so the implication is "yes". I flew my Solo off my boat many times with no problem until one day it had a compass/gps error...
