    What a haul...

They only came with bodies, arms and landing gear. No stabilizers, blades, or controllers. I took the two I've built up from the parts and flew them today. No problems.

    What a haul...

In my search to get spare parts before they're completely unavailable - I found an eBay listing for 5 crashed Karmas (all of them damaged) with an "unknown" status of operation. $175. I decided to roll the dice, figuring if I can get some landing gear or arms out of them, I'd be in good shape...

Anyone done night flight with the Karma?

I only briefly glanced at the protune settings on my Hero 5, but my guess (based on what I saw there) is that you'll get the most success at night with the GoPro if you enable protune and adjust aperture, ISO, and shutter speed manually. I knew none of this, until I took a photography class on...

Anyone done night flight with the Karma?

I'll be the first to admit I'm not 100% on the 107 rules, seeing as how I'm in the catch 22 of not being able to get it right now. I'm also very cynical and wary of the FAA, based on my experience with them over the years. Sounds like you've got it covered! Sent from my BBB100-7 using Tapatalk

    Late to the Karma Party

Welcome aboard! I almost bought a refurb, ended up picking up a used one on eBay for a good price. I also have been interested in it for a while. Just wish they were able to stick with it. Oh well, my stable of parts should be arriving on Wednesday (guy was selling 5 crashed drones with various...

    Not a Karma but...

The NTSB is using drones in the Atlas Air flight 3591 crash. It may seem odd, but my favorite show on TV is Air Disasters. I chalk that up to being a former Aviation Safety Officer in my squadron. To be the ASO you actually have to go to a four week course, taught by Naval Postgraduate School...

Anyone done night flight with the Karma?

I should also clarify my comment, not to make you think you can't fly at night. The FARs can be quite confusing at times, and the FAA generally holds certificate holders to a higher standard than the general public, i.e. - you're supposed to know/understand things that are sometimes murky. So...

Sorry to be a killjoy, but you're risking your 107 certificate if you do and get caught. Sent from my BBB100-7 using Tapatalk

    New (to me) Karma arrived!

Not the best day for photography/videography... But I wanted to scratch an itch. Really impressed with the Karma, easy to fly and easy to get great shots. I can see I'm going to have fun with it.

    New (to me) Karma arrived!

Got the camera today, and did a quick test flight in my very obstacle laden front and back yard. This drone is WAY easier to fly than my other one. Tomorrow, I'm taking it down to our Marina and flying for actual nice footage hopefully. Then maybe down to the beach to test some of the flight...

I went to the dark side

I think the Mavic Air is a pretty cool drone, especially for portability. Maybe in the future, once I'm a major airline pilot... But then again, by then - there will probably be the Mavic Air 9, compatible with the Smart Controller, and I can pick up a discontinued Mavic Air for $150. :D

I went to the dark side

Guy I work with has a Mavic Pro 2, and I've been eyeing a Mavic Air for quite some time. I pulled the trigger and bought a Karma because of the price. For the price of one Mavic, I got a GoPro Hero 5, Karma, Karma Grip, two batteries, 5 broken Karma drones (going to break them down for spare...

    Question about the built-in simulation

Yeah, I picked up on that quick. I've reached the limits of the sim, so I've been flying my tiny little drone that is squirrely as all get out a bunch to prepare for when the Hero 5 Black arrives.

Is there a Rating/Spec for Wind Conditions?

9999 in that position indicates unlimited visibility. So, it would be winds variable at 5kts, unlimited visibility, sky clear. As for length, generally TAFs are longer - but I have seen some ungodly long METARs and some surprisingly short TAFs over the course of my life.

Is there a Rating/Spec for Wind Conditions?

Wait, what? I like the short ones. Something like "VRB005KT 9999 SKC"
