I've had a couple of BOOH flights but was able to regain some semblance of control enough to bring the drone back and do a controlled crash. It seemed to still respond to the joysticks as long as one was engaged but letting go of the joysticks immediately put the drone back in BOOH mode. A tip...
From my experience I believe the compass interference can be caused by either the drone or the controller being too close to metallic structures. I have no way of proving this but here is the model I'm using: Both the drone and the controller seem to be sensitive to the earth's magnetic lines...
I second this. It would be nice to be able to select the wi-fi channel. Then, with a scanner app, one could select the cleanest channel to minimize flight interference issues.
There seem to be issues with Wi-Fi interference. There are free Wi-Fi scanner apps online. I wouldn't fly my drone in a windstorm--might be good to check for Wi-Fi storms in the projected flight area. I don't think the Karma Wi-Fi channel can be changed (with current software) and I believe...
Thank you for this background. Yup--nothing by hype on the GoPro site. I have not flown mine yet and it likely will be a couple of weeks before I get to it. I need to fly it in an urban environment and my intention is to try and use it for crane shots--not the distant aerials we typically see...
Yes. Recalibrate and format memory. Even if you're not going to pursue FAA certification it is helpful to read through the material regarding elements of the flight environment and pre-flight procedures. Lots of resources here: Getting Started
